Laboratoires AROMACT® also manufactures aromatherapy-oriented personal care products and medical aromatherapy products. Its predecessor was a private laboratory dedicated to phytotherapy research founded by Dr. André BERNAIX, a renowned French physician. Given his outstanding contributions in the medical field, Dr. BERNAIX was awarded the Chevalier of the National Order of the Legion of Honor in 1967.
 

Meaning of the brand name AROMACT

AROM is derived from the Latin word “aromate”, a general term for aromatic plants.
ACT is the abbreviation of “action” or “activity”.
AROMACT=AROM+ACT, which means “care for/soothe the skin with the essence of aromatic plants.

What is Aromatherapy?

The prefix “aroma” of the word “aromatherapy” is derived from a Latin word meaning “aromatic scent”. It refers to the natural fragrant ingredients of aromatic plants. The suffix “therapy” comes from a Greek word meaning “treatment”. The word aromatherapy illustrates that botanical aromatherapy is not just about diffusing pleasant perfumes, but has therapeutic and medicinal uses, such as from plant extracts and essential oils.
